How Long Can Cooked Chicken Sit Out
Olivia Luz

Sometimes it comes down to what your instincts tell you.
The usda says that 40 degrees should be maintained in your fridge then your cooked chicken can last 3 4 days. Spoiled food especially cooked chicken doesn t always show signs of contamination. Freezing slows bacteria into a dormant stage. In line with this rule you can keep cooked chicken sitting out for a maximum of two hours at room temperature.
However if you experience relatively warmer weather or have a hotter and damper environment the poultry dish should only stay out for a maximum of one hour. Frozen cooked food however can keep for 2 to 6 months without spoiling. If you want your chicken to last longer keep it in the freezer. Additionally if the temp is beyond 90 f it is best to only leave it out for no more than an hour.
