A well is basically a hole in the ground held open by a pipe or casing that extends to an aquifer. A pump draws water from the aquifer for distribution through the plumbing system. Home well water systems work by connecting a series of pipes from a pressure tank within the home to an underground water source known as a well. It is what pumps water upward and into the household or designated water system.

The pumped water new water that s drawn from the well by the suction at the jet then combines with the drive water to discharge. Some well water systems use a large storage tank to store the water before it is pumped again to the house. Its function is to slow down the water and increase the pressure. Most well water is pumped out of the ground automatically using a submersible pump or a jet pump that sits on top of the ground and draws water out of the ground to create water pressure for the home.
