How Does A Battery Work For Kids
Olivia Luz

A battery is basically like a jar of chemicals.
In most basic terms a battery cell is made up of three components. It basically converts stored chemical energy into electrical energy. So how do batteries work. A pin typically made of brass forms the negative current collector and is in the center of the battery case.
For a battery to work the terminals must be linked by an outside wire. The anode and the electrolyte potassium hydroxide are inside each battery. Two electrodes and an electrolyte between them. The chemicals inside the battery cause an electrochemical reaction which is when chemicals react with each other to form.
A dry cell is a common type of battery used today. An anode negative charge a cathode positive charge and the electrolyte. Each battery has a cell that contains three components.
