How Do You Install A Garbage Disposal

Make sure that you turn off the power first.

Install the garbage disposal. Then attach the wires in your new disposal according to the manufacturer s instructions insert the drain flange and screw the disposal into the mounting ring. Use the included wrench or a screw driver to tighten and secure the disposal in place. Read the installation instructions in the owner s manual to identify the disposal parts and wiring colors.

To connect the drain insert the gasket in the discharge outlet and then attach the discharge tube with the flange and bolts. Identify and remove the cover plate on the under side of the disposal. Align the 3 tabs on the disposal to the 3 openings on the mounting ring. In this video i ll walk you step by step through a garbage disposal installation.

The garbage disposal system itself should also be turned off. Use the included wrench to turn and lock the tabs over the ridges. Now it is time to install the entire disposal unit under the sink. Disconnect the power at the circuit breaker.

Connect the dishwasher drain. Align the three taps of the disposal with the mounting ring. To install a new garbage disposal start by removing the old disposal and taking apart the rest of the mounting assembly. Once you have the tools that you need you are now ready to start install a garbage disposal.

You can do this by inserting the gasket to the discharge outlet connecting the discharge tube to the flange and screwing the bolts for a firm fitting. Then turn until the mount is holding the disposal. Hang the disposal by aligning the three tabs with the mounting ring. Check if the disposals have wires that are attached to it.
