How Do I Reset My Echo Dot

Turn the echo dot upside down and find the reset switch.

Press and hold the action button. If your echo dot 2nd generation is unresponsive or you want to give it to someone else you can reset the device. Use a paper clip or similar tool to press and hold the reset button until the light ring on your echo device. Press and hold the microphone off and volume down buttons.

Tap echo devices. Hold that for five seconds. The light ring should turn orange and the device will then enter setup mode. Let go of the reset switch and the echo dot will reboot.

4 tap the echo device you want to reset. Set up your echo dot. After you finish pressing the reset button the light ring on the echo will light up orange for about a minute. Once you complete this process your first generation dot is reset.
