How Do I Clean My Dog S Ears
Camila Farah

To clean your dog s ears make a mixture of 1 2 vinegar and 1 2 rubbing alcohol and let it come to room temperature.
The best place to clean your dog s ears is in the tub or outside. Keep in mind that when the dog shakes its head that ear debris and cleaner has to go somewhere and that includes your walls and you so beware. Use the solution on damp cotton wool and never get the ears wetter than they need to be and do not pour or squirt water into the ears. Don t use tissue for this because when the tissue is saturated with the solution it will fall apart in the ear and pieces may get left behind which can lead to infection and other problems.
If your dog is sensitive to the solution. Apply a generous amount of ear cleaning solution into the ear canal. Next lift your dog s ears and rub the inside of the flap with the cotton ball. Then dip a cotton ball into the liquid and squeeze out any excess fluid so the ball is just damp.
If you try to push further in you can damage your dog s ear so err on the side of caution. Assemble your supplies and your dog. This is a great thing to do just before a bath. Massage the base of the ear to disperse the cleaning solution deep into the ear canal.
