Cells are the basic building blocks of life which can join together to form tissues while different groups of tissues join together to form organs.

When different types of tissues are organized together to perform a complex function it s called an organ. These organs are then connected together to form organ systems such as the digestive system which includes the stomach esophagus intestines and other organs.
The heart is an organ. Organs are made from tissues and systems are made from several organs working together. Organs are two or more tissues operating together. Animals and plants are made of cells.
